Press Release

RDC in the Netherlands Re-engineers Vehicle Support System with Jacada

Web Interface for Vehicle Testing System Speeds Service for Dutch Motorists

Atlanta and London, November 18, 2003 – Jacada Ltd. (NASDAQ: JCDA) announced today that RDC, the private Dutch company with responsibility for maintaining safety testing data for ten million vehicles in the Netherlands, has successfully implemented Jacada to provide 8000 vehicle testing centres with Internet access to its mainframe vehicle service applications.

RDC also provides 27 different vehicle related services to the Dutch government - ranging from taxation and leasing records to the safety testing service. To support these services, RDC maintains a database of ten million vehicles.

For many years, authorised testing centres received information about vehicles from the Dutch government via a 'videotext' system, which was to be phased out. However, the mainframe environment that underpinned the service remained ideally suited to processing an average of 100,000 daily transactions. Faced with competitive bids from rivals who were about to enter the same market, RDC had only a short timeframe to engineer a solution to graphically access the mainframe application via the Internet.

Using Jacada Interface Server, RDC was quickly able to pilot and subsequently implement a secure graphical user interface for accessing their Computer Associates' IDMS-based application over the Web. RDC re-built the front-end of its vehicle applications to give easy access through a standard Web browser and leverage the existing processes and data in its back-end systems. Transactions continue to be processed the same way - only with a new Web-based interface.

"Having a legacy system actually worked to RDC's advantage," commented Mike Warner, Managing Director of Jacada Europe. "That's because they could leverage the existing processes and data to create a better way for the garages and Dutch Government to do business together. Since mainframe applications dominate IT in government services, better access means more effective services."

"Jacada provided a fast, flexible way to move to an Internet-based system. The combination of their easy-to-use software and their expert consulting services provided the help we needed to rapidly implement the Internet-based solution and continue supporting our customers," says Fred Faijdherbe, VP of Information Technology for RDC.
