Windows screen scraper -- Integrating Legacy Windows Applications
Jacada Windows screen scraper provides a rapid, affordable, and non-intrusive means to deliver business components and services from legacy Windows applications. These components and services can then be used in web and composite applications to integrate information from a broad range of application types and environments.
Using unique, non-intrusive technology, Jacada Windows screen scraper is capable of rapidly generating business components that expose a programmatic interface to the application's functionality, without requiring any change or even access to the application's source code. By utilizing web services, Jacada Windows screen scraper enables organizations to integrate legacy Windows applications within the enterprise, while also exposing the applications' functionality externally.
Windows screen scraper Runtime Architecture
Jacada Windows screen scraper generates web services that are used to access the Windows applications residing on the Windows Server machine. These web services can be invoked by any application server or client application via the Jacada server.
Jacada Windows screen scraper provides an adapter to the Windows application to analyze the application's user interface and communicate with its various windows and controls (GUI objects). The Windows Screen Scraper product is then capable of querying and activating these GUI objects and other available data at the user interface layer of the Windows application.
The Windows screen scraper server is responsible for processing the web services, controlling the runtime sessions, and providing runtime management capabilities. Utilizing Microsoft's Windows Terminal Services (WTS), the runtime architecture is able to support multiple concurrent sessions in a scalable manner.
Jacada's Windows screen scraper product, marketed under the name, Jacada WinFuse, supports deployment on Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003.
